A frustrating second half
The second half started as the first ended. Lots of quality, but little opportunity. We had control of the ball almost non stop, and Birmingham offered little in terms of offense. Unfortunately, we had difficulty moving the ball into dangerous areas. Lots of sideways passing amongst our defence, but little quality forward passing. The arrival of Forss in the second half gave a few moments of excitement, but despite some decent runs he never really had the ball at his feet much. The game did get a bit physical and one of the Birmingham players was knocked about 4 rows back into the stands. Jansson also made a number of tough tackles, but the referee seemed indifferent to a series of fouls and play got a bit out of hand. The last few minutes didn’t see us with much penetration despite possession and a few long balls into the box amounted to little. Overall it felt like we deserved much more, but it just wasn’t our day. Our defence and wingers were outstanding but we couldn’t get the ball in the box enough to create any real chances.
